I document the messy joyful in-between — the look across the aisle, the quiet minute before the dance floor opens.

A Saturday in July at her grandparents' orchard outside Hood River. Forty guests, a borrowed banquet table, and the kind of afternoon thunderstorm that sends everyone laughing under the apple trees. We shot the whole day on two cameras and one prime lens.

I take on roughly twenty weddings and a small handful of portrait sessions each year. Custom-fit options are always on the table — if your day doesn't fit one of these shapes, just say so when you write in.

“Rowan showed up on the morning of our wedding like an old friend who happened to bring a camera. We didn't notice her shooting half the day, and then three weeks later she sent us 612 photographs that made my mother cry. We have the one of my dad watching me walk down the aisle framed above the kitchen table now.”

About
I'm not here to direct you. I'm here to keep up.
I shoot weddings and portraits the way I learned to shoot newsrooms — quietly, mostly from the side, looking for the second after the obvious one. I trained at the University of Oregon, spent four years on staff at a regional daily, and started photographing weddings full-time in 2021 because the work felt like the same work: paying attention to people on a day that matters. I'm based in Portland, shoot mostly across Oregon and Washington, and travel with both cameras in a beat-up canvas bag I refuse to replace. If you're somewhere on the spectrum from 'we hate posing' to 'we don't know what we want yet,' you're probably in the right place. Write me — tell me about the day. I read everything that comes in.
